About THE BOOK
About the Author
Hi, I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor (LMFT-S) committed to helping individuals, couples, and families thrive through holistic spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical wellness. As the founder of Courageous Mind Counseling, PLLC, I wear many hats: psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and advocate for mental health, particularly within faith-based communities.
Throughout my career, I’ve been honored with awards like Best Therapist of the Year, and I’ve had the privilege of sharing my expertise on local radio, TV, and at community events. My work has taken me internationally, where I’ve addressed diverse audiences on critical topics like the intersection of mental health and spirituality. Highlights include speaking at Christ for the Nations in Dallas, TX, and their Eden Conference for Youth for the Nations (YFN), where I encouraged attendees to embrace both faith and mental health as tools for growth and healing.
My journey began at the University of Texas at El Paso, where I earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Psychology, with a minor in Spanish. This foundation inspired me to pursue a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University, where I honed my skills in relational dynamics and therapeutic interventions.
As a bilingual therapist fluent in English and Spanish, I’ve connected with people from various backgrounds and cultures, helping them navigate life’s challenges. I work with individuals, couples, families, and pastors, and I’m passionate about fostering meaningful conversations about mental health through my podcast, Coffee with Courage. Currently, I’m writing new books designed to strengthen relationships and promote emotional resilience.
I’m proud to be a member of professional organizations such as the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. As a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society, I am committed to lifelong learning and growth.
Outside of my professional life, I love spending time with my husband and daughter, exploring the world through activities like hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and discovering new destinations. These adventures fuel my passion for growth and remind me of the importance of balance and connection.
